Just Gay

They said; go and make friends!
But mom, they call me the thing we should never say
The one thing no young boy wants to be called
Because we all want to be mighty and strong
Even though we feel
We still believe being a man
Needs a hard physique
Anything less
And you’re gay as the rainbow will be.

Well then I’ll be.
I’ll even make it my achievement
My glory & my goal
Since being me,
Is gay to the world.

I’ll be gay
If it means I am independent
Talented, creative and free
Because the pain of not being me
Is worse than the pain of hoping, someday I’ll be.

I’ll be gay
Because no word will drive me
To the point of no existence
Because to be “popular” you shall not stand next to a gay guy
But will, someone who has killed over three times
That reminds me of your lord and Savior
Jesus Christ.

I’ll  be gay
Because I’d rather you misunderstand me
Than me not knowing my own reflection.

I’ll be gay
Because no word will reduce my intelligence
Mold me into something normality wants
Because wearing a mask
Is tiring as FUCK!

I’ll be gay
Because poems I wrote sound like feelings no man has ever told
Yes cocky, I’m told
But even that is perceived as gay
So I’ll be.
