Mi Falla
You are:
The waves of sand
blowing across the beach,
the gentile wind
of a cool Mediterranean night,
the salt eroded houses
rusting calmly next to the sea,
the homes of gypsies
hidden behind palm lined streets,
the gun powder atmosphere,
resonating from the hazy skyline,
the armada of fireworks
exploding like a million firefights,
the thousands of feet
trampling over stone bridges,
the medieval buildings
conquered and built for El Cid,
the pride of the artist
who burns everything to be immortal,
the towering flames
from the effigies in the inferno.
You are:
The humanity
seared into my eyes
everlasting and eternal.
