Aftertaste

Shallow, seething, scared and cold
Nothing but chains and pain to hold
Wretched, reaking, rotten lament
A hope-filled heart now hard as cement
Sick, twisted, tangled traps
The vindication was taken back
Blinding, burning, blistering hope
Trust comes only with ten feet of rope
Wicked, writhing, wasted truce
I close my eyes while clinching the noose
Dirty, dreary, desperate love
I hold on tight as you push and shove
Greasy, grimey, grotesque goodbyes
I open wide to swallow the lies
Putrid, primal, pus-filled pain
Teased with sunshine while drowning in rain
I keep choking on the lies and tricks
And the aftertaste is making me sick.
