Jumping Rope

Jump roping around the block
On the playground, never stop
Hop scotch? Tag? Hide-n-seek?
Forget all those and jump to the beat

1-2-3-4-3-2-1
Jump in place until you’re done
Jump with friends and call it double
Twice the fun and triple the trouble

Then add more to your roping-ness
Keep on adding to the mess
Jumping until your feet are sore
Jumping rope is never a bore

Then go back and jump alone
Criss cross, one foot, on the way home
Keep on jumping but if you lose
Hang yourself from the jumping noose
