Behind this Mask
So I have become Lord Viddax
Here on this charming site.
Some of you may know me
Some more intimately more than others.
But while to some I seem stuffy and serious
Behind this mask I'm actually laughing
Oh, not physically
But internally with every fiber of my being
Behind this mask I am the Mad God
I laugh at all you do
Everything you say
All those stupid pointless words and phrases
All those meaningless views and opinions
All your replies on the forums
All your replies to other poems
All your replies to me.
Behind this mask I am not an average person
Oh, how futile and silly it all is
How utterly entertaining it is.
Behind this mask lurks a demonic angel
Or is that an angelic demon?
How many of you fools pictured those things
Place it here or there and put it there
Giving the words the wrong handshake
As you lead it into parts of your human brain
In order to understand and categorise stuff.
Behind this mask is a mystery, you cannot understand or deal with it.

All of this and a little more. Apart from when I'm eating or drinking, then the mask comes off so food can come on down into a chow down.

Hmm, interesting comment. I was actually hoping more more the insanely happy madman than the dark morbid sufferer. The insane happy madman is normal for me, while the sadness is but a storm; it comes and goes. Anything specifically make you thin sadness in this? so that I can alter it to my desire.

Ah, but the mask is a metaphor to some extent. And with my alter-ego Viddax he wears a mask because in the story (yet to be written not just thought) he hides his face. Others think he may be scarred or the like, but, for Viddax, and me, the mask is there to create mystery. To say that you can't know the truth in this circumstance, so just try to enjoy the puzzle. The mask is also there because a masked madman can get away with anything; fight the good and bad fight and not show the moral mortal behind.
I hope this helps somewhat.
A mask also weakens; it removes your actual persona, it sucks your identity from you. Masks also in my head, provoke the image of madness, basically because of 'The Mask' movie with Jim Carrey.

Oh, I'd be dangerous if I was cunning, and more at peace if I was joyful, and the insanity may not be all there either, but nobodies imperfect!

That made me grin. But where would be demi-gods be without mortals to laugh at? And good poets are welcome at my court, they're one step away from being mortal.

Exactly! So glad you pointed out that loophole. But just because I'm half mortal doesn't mean that though; it just means I can laugh at myself too at times. And with so many shifting phantasms of my demi-goddery, and reality, the numbers become distroted, crunched, munched and un-hunched.

In that 'vision' the image is distorted and defiled, and also counts as as treason, but I'll let that one slip seeing as you commented and complimented.
