you'll never know
silence babbles in my ears
prattling on every day that you're not here
about how mine was a most silly
and ridiculous way to skate
i clean, and waste my eyes, my breath
as addiction stumbles clumsily away
i know exits and words can be tricky
on this side of the fence
happiness cradles my face as i watch the glee
dance across its own
and it jabs my stomach with every glimpse
that makes me think
of you
how much you should have seen or heard
this time or that
i grin
baked, roasted, fried, smashed
(grilled), chipped, or even boiled
good friends do go so nicely with fish

The last stanza is a goldmine of surreal wit.

I nearly cried on the second verse, there's so much sadness lying hand in hand with words of joy. It was nice to truly see inside your head. Beautiful.

Like the way you combined the loss of parting with wry humour, jolais. Good piece.
