The Broken Palace

Come with me to the smoldered hollow,
where joy has died and hope shall follow.

Stamp on the heart where hopes have tread.
where smiles are shunned and trust is dead.

Take this hand, now cold and callous.
join me in the shadows of the broken palace.

This palace once housed a brilliant notion,
that could shape the stars in the stellar ocean.

But these walls seemingly could not sustain,
and collapsed by the flame it couldn't contain.

In all of the ashes scattered around,
traces of the shattered heart can be found.

The once vibrant flame with the power to astound,
has imploded upon itself...and burned to the ground.
