I Wonder
When the lovely woman closes her eyes
where do her dreams take her
do they paint a picture majestic
with nature's surroundings in harmony
Do they contain that special someone
or is she too ambitious in her flight
to be attached to a lover's plea
possessing a wisdom beyond her years
Shall I lay at her feet a heart underused
"nothing ventured nothing gained"
I am a forever assigned the role of observer
hardly much comfort on a blistery northwest night
These questions probably engage many a man
in her contact and gladly a witness to her charms
knowing that one day what they both will find
will be "Written In Sand"
"Your eyes are the color of the sea
You look my way and the waves wash over me
Your body shivers with the fading light
And you say, baby, lets just make it last tonight"
"Written In Sand", Santana, written by Mitchell Froom/Jerry Stahl
