A Fallen Tree
Raindrops on a satin leaf.
Your love appears
like a towering reef.
Out of the ocean
reaching out for the sky.
A wolf howling at the moon
With a desperate cry.
I'm broken without your
Closeness and touch.
The distance between us
Pains me so much.
I walk through a forest
With a winding path.
A peaceful place
Despite its unforgiving wrath.
A patch of emptiness
Where a tree once stood.
I'm far from alone
In these beautiful woods.
A fallen tree
creates a bridge over a creek.
The sound of nothing
Is the melody I seek.
A ceiling of leaves
Forcing out all given light.
Yet sunrays creep in
Making everything bright.
I'm lost in a gorgeous
Fairytale dream.
A place with no life
Or so it may seem.
I cry out your name
With an echoing sound.
I've fallen, but refuse
To stay on the ground.
I shelter deep under a canopy.
But in your arms
Is where I'd rather be...
...forever
