Words that sting
Words that sting;
I know I've said them too
When wounds that hide inside
Find way to make escape
In route among my tongue
And say the cruelest things
Your words; they do it too
Fall heavy on my heart
Make residence in space
with poison roots that grew
In precedence of place
As twisted plots construe
An ill, untimely fate
And soon we are remade
Only shells of former selves
Single handedly, we shaped
Our low and sadly state
Poor choice in actions made
But it takes words to drive the stake
When words are turned to stones
Whether thrown or left unknown
They are prone to break far more than bones
For actions cannot heal
When words leave no repeal
I know I've said them too
When wounds that hide inside
Find way to make escape
In route among my tongue
And say the cruelest things
Your words; they do it too
Fall heavy on my heart
Make residence in space
with poison roots that grew
In precedence of place
As twisted plots construe
An ill, untimely fate
And soon we are remade
Only shells of former selves
Single handedly, we shaped
Our low and sadly state
Poor choice in actions made
But it takes words to drive the stake
When words are turned to stones
Whether thrown or left unknown
They are prone to break far more than bones
For actions cannot heal
When words leave no repeal
