I love the line. "Listen with your skin." it’s always interesting, for me, to think what sensory would take over if we were to lose our eyesight. It is only thought that the mind is located & housed in the cranium area, but really, that is only where our eyes are located and so of course we associate sight with brain and the totality of mind. The heart has vision; it plays a large role in the mind of man. “The heart has eyes the brain knows nothing of.”
I worked out on paper one day, using the evolutionary traits that is hidden deep in our linage and DNA, a way in which man would actually see colors and have vision if it so happened that all humanity would lose their eyesight and not regain it. We would adapt and go on seeing in color through the cognition of our skin (like sonar). I thought that was amazing.
I love this poem. The beautiful imagery of the pic and your words. Just lovely.
I remember as a kid learning our skin is the single largest organ of our bodies; and that like our lungs we need it to breathe ... Poetically speaking there is so much we hear and see with it ...
... Thanks for the read, it's always appreciated from you.
