Once the water comes down (there's no going back)

thunderheads have lightning linings
and the onyx walls
that line the heavy dew
add such depth
to the pitter patter ringing two
so true upon the windshield

the worlds changing these days
the water around this bridge tasted sweet yesterday
now it's no place for dated clouds
who won't drop acid rain
how else would they burn
through the blackness laying on their shores

and you thought hell was hot
until you felt the heat of those flames
and saw how hard a time
that perfect speck
of the purest essence of life
had finding forgiveness
for falling on a filthy cage

and the little man hiding inside
holds close his hope of staying dry
while the timbers crumble beneath his feet
