Full of Mistakes
For some reason
People like to point
It out. And I lie
Still and let them.
That foundation
Will crumble and I
Will cry with joy
Not because I
Wanted it destroyed
But because space
Was needed for some
Thing better. Something
That grew into a kind
Of acceptance that
Smelled like spring
And made the bees
Make honey and
Love the flowers.
The way I love
You, nothing held
Because life is
Fragile and I won't
Make a promise
That can break.
Here is what
I'll say:
I will give more
Than myself. I won't
Stop finding deeper
Wells of strength
To make you smile.
And I wouldn't trade
Your smile for anything.
Your smile is
contagious
