All You Can Eat

I never count the pounds
and I couldn't bear
the gym
all that work
to shrink your body
sweating to get thin

I watch
the ice cream beckon
every flavour
you could wish
mounds of pure enjoyment
cavorting on my dish

My tummy's
always rumbling
it's broader than the sea
Please pass along
that trifle bowl
to rest upon my knee

Another slice of gateau
and my sugar monster beams
Of course,
I'll eat it all
and then
those custard creams

I could scoff
the whole caboodle
my appetite's a blister
though I'm running
rather late
for dinner with my sister

It was kind of you
to ask me
and I hate to be a nag
but you'll notice
I'm prepared
with a dozen doggy bags
