The Passing of Severed Eras

The need to grow distant calls upon our courage      
As the strength to overcome complacency arises      
     
Time deems its new opposition a worthy adversary      
     
Freedom caresses purpose with a sceptical hand,      
Stroking its boundaries with its faith in structure      
Life's fondled by the desire for the unaccustomed      
     
A firm belief opens the heart of this hesitant conviction      
...The estranged continue their search for higher ground      
     
That which is sought embraces that which is needed      
     
Attracted by the fulfilling quest for an opposing world,      
We see the loving gift of independence sway this way      
     
Beyond lies the unavoidable passing of severed eras
