He Loved Her

He Loved her with a fire no one knew
For her he would never pursue

To him she was his everything
Every poem, every lyric was for her to sing

There was a fire, a darkness in her eyes
Honesty in every one of her pretty lies

She kept him close at all times
Always to be the one who bailed her out from her crimes

He was the shoulder on which she would cry
For her he would always try

For her he would fly
He was her knight but she didn't know, she didn't try

Tears where her thing
Her way to make sure he gave her everything

He Loved her to the very end
Even though he remained just a friend

He was an angel in love with a devil girl
With long hair that had a slight curl

One day he couldn't take it anymore
Of watching his love behave like a whore

So he sat down with a bottle of scotch
He then wrote her letter to take her down a notch

He wrote:

"I have loved you nearly all of my life
And I have received more love from a knife
I have stood by you and it has turned me blue
I no longer stand by and let other people love you
So tonight i end it all and let myself fade away
May the memory of me always linger, always stay
With you through it all, no matter what
No door can keep me out when it has been shut
No, my dear you have nothing to fear
With my ghost always being near
This my farewell, my last good bye
My one and only, my final request is don't you cry
                           -Danny"

He swallowed a a couple dozen pills
To make sure his heartbeat stills
He cut his wrists just to make sure
That he couldn't be bought back, that it wouldn't occur
And to this day she swears she didn't know he loved her
Though the signs were all there
There was nothing she could do
So she says...
