Innocence Lost (reformatted)
If I would stop
and let my body rest,
My tears would
only thunder
innocence lost,
With my mind
plundering the confusion,
and intense sadness;
A beast un-blessed
by any human heart,
And if I opened
and let the victims run,
Would they?
Or would they
only stand
and guess the thought,
In my innocence found,
I would only cry,
And let them
tear the heavens apart.
and let my body rest,
My tears would
only thunder
innocence lost,
With my mind
plundering the confusion,
and intense sadness;
A beast un-blessed
by any human heart,
And if I opened
and let the victims run,
Would they?
Or would they
only stand
and guess the thought,
In my innocence found,
I would only cry,
And let them
tear the heavens apart.
