Woe is Me
I hold my breath
And stare at my skin
As the hurt without
Replaces the hurt within.
I whisper your name
And cry crimson tears
I just feel so alone...
I wish you were here.
I close my eyes tight
And I see your face.
You see what I've done
And I feel so ashamed.
I take a step towards you.
I drop my razor-sharp blade.
Blood runs down my body
As you stare at the mess I've made.
I look down at the ground
And then I hear your voice:
"I don't approve of what you've done,
But it's your life - your choice."
I open my eyes, and I'm alone
Sitting in my bathroom on the floor,
And I remember a few months ago
I said I wouldn't do this anymore.
And stare at my skin
As the hurt without
Replaces the hurt within.
I whisper your name
And cry crimson tears
I just feel so alone...
I wish you were here.
I close my eyes tight
And I see your face.
You see what I've done
And I feel so ashamed.
I take a step towards you.
I drop my razor-sharp blade.
Blood runs down my body
As you stare at the mess I've made.
I look down at the ground
And then I hear your voice:
"I don't approve of what you've done,
But it's your life - your choice."
I open my eyes, and I'm alone
Sitting in my bathroom on the floor,
And I remember a few months ago
I said I wouldn't do this anymore.
