Soul
O, this Death!
It took from me
this mortal's weeping soul
Whose time was not due at right
Whose life was lived but well and true
O, this Death!
It barred faith's hands
and locked within itself
A losing fight from the claws
A battle towards the end
And my close one had only lived so true
Without fault, without pain
Without anger and without feign
All meant to make a better world
All meant for goodness and for truth
O, Death!
See now! the fallen one!
Enveloped in dry ground
Buried within deafness
Suppressed in this memorial form
O, Death!
You took from me
This mortal's weeping soul
Whose time was not due at right
Whose life was lived but well and true
O, Death! You took
This mortal's weeping soul
Whose life was without fault
Without pain
Without anger and without feign
All meant to make a better world
All meant for goodness
And among all, for truth
It took from me
this mortal's weeping soul
Whose time was not due at right
Whose life was lived but well and true
O, this Death!
It barred faith's hands
and locked within itself
A losing fight from the claws
A battle towards the end
And my close one had only lived so true
Without fault, without pain
Without anger and without feign
All meant to make a better world
All meant for goodness and for truth
O, Death!
See now! the fallen one!
Enveloped in dry ground
Buried within deafness
Suppressed in this memorial form
O, Death!
You took from me
This mortal's weeping soul
Whose time was not due at right
Whose life was lived but well and true
O, Death! You took
This mortal's weeping soul
Whose life was without fault
Without pain
Without anger and without feign
All meant to make a better world
All meant for goodness
And among all, for truth
