dance with me, mouse king.
I always felt special
when you twirled me around.
like I'm the girl you thought about
at that split second.
you always made dances
out of our kisses.
like they were routine
and not out of the blue.
I always felt like I was
spinning around your steps,
as you chose a different path.
(you never did catch me when I fell.)
sometimes you would trip me,
I didn't pay mind.
I thought it was something
you were supposed to do.
I was your nutcracker princess
to your mouse king.
I was stupid to fall for that shit.
you had me caught by the rope.
and,
I smiled when it got tighter,
'cause you had me.
when you twirled me around.
like I'm the girl you thought about
at that split second.
you always made dances
out of our kisses.
like they were routine
and not out of the blue.
I always felt like I was
spinning around your steps,
as you chose a different path.
(you never did catch me when I fell.)
sometimes you would trip me,
