Glad you enjoyed it! Was not quite sure whether the message was clear. But well, at best it leaves space for interpretation.

I like the honesty of this in that we are shaped by lovers (good and bad) over time

And we are, right? Never ending experience, new impressions (good and bad) as well as overt and hidden scars. Everything shapes our hearts. And some experience might turn them cold as stone.

Warm hugZ to you, my dear Paul :-). Both comments lift me up and fill my unpolished and hot heart with some extra joy!

Yes, hearts are supposed to be like pages in a capacious book: to be filled with joyful stories but with tragic ones, too.

Have you ever tried to smash a stone? Some do break. Or they come out chipped. Particularly the polished ones. Imperfect remnants of love devided *sigh*.

Ahhh, Chiyo, luv :-* ~
This has such depth...
Stone has facets, layers, fissures, pockets, so much...
Heart of stone while outwardly seeming cold and hard may contain many things, many depths, warmth, layers, even new life. :-*
This piece is a miracle of meaning.
Thank you, luv. You are exquisite, indeed.

Dear Savaja, your comment is so lovely that it would downright melt icebergs and re-ignite extinct fires :-). Thank you so much for your thoughtful and heartwarming words!

Miss Chi, I love this piece. My first impression was of a stone worn smooth over time by a river's flow or waves of the sea.It becomes smooth but remains cold stone as a heart so often mistreated. It can be restored to a living, beating organ.
I'll have to admit that I don't understand the "Perfect interplay" passage.
Well done Miss Chi

Your interpretation of the first two lines is quite correct, Gahddess_ Worship. I was thinking of lovers who shape each other mutually in body and mind. The "perfect interplay" meant the mutual shaping through flesh (outside) and bones (inside) - an interplay of both forces. Hm ... has it become more understandable? Thank you for your criticism!

Yes it is clear as a bell. My comment was more to illustrate my need to understand rather than a criticism.

As I'm asking for honest comments I'm very content with them when they arise. If you need to clarify the message there's something wrong with the poem. And it's very good to know about that. So thank you again!

Actually, I think that what you wrote comes from your heart and needs no explanation...I was just curiouys about your meaning and it's a beautiful one.

Painting with words, that's what we all try to do, aren't we? Thanks for your lovely comment, Gabriel!
