Have You Ever Thought
Have you ever thought
“I would like to have all the answers in life?”
To wake up in the morning,
And there are all the meanings before you.
Not to have to spend hours and hours
Trying to solve the personal problems that lie ahead
Racking your brain for answers
To the many possibilities,
And not knowing the outcomes or consequences?
Playing around with your imagination
Perhaps thinking, “AHA! I've got it.”
Only to have two more problems popping up?
Are we in a world of “make believe”
Fooling ourselves by denying reality?
Or singing with Peggy Lee: “Is that all there is?”
Yet, we find life being a puzzle
And wonder: “Do I have all the pieces or
Are some broken?”
Or maybe you have misplaced a few?
Then one day you picked up the Bible,
And then “Voila!”
You found the answer.
Trust in the Lord with all your heart,
And do not lean on your own understanding.
In all your ways acknowledge him,
And he will make straight your paths.
