Gone

It's been but a moment since I seen your pretty face,
I try to keep your memory alive but with time it fades,
The more I think of you the more my heart longs to feel,
The love you used to give me because it felt so surreal.
I often lay awake at night looking into the darkest spaces,
Hoping that I'd see you once more before the thought erases.
Tears suddenly form within my eyes and my heart flutters,
Emotional tides that come and go and often I'm left smothered.
I miss you more than words can address and I feel sad & alone,
Without you here I feel like I lost everything even the life I own.
Love like ours only comes once in a life time and never ends,
Unfortunate that ours did and I still try to make some amends.
I'm sorry for all I did but I know now the damage has been done,
You were right all along because my anger inside can't be overcome.
