You were a great viceroy
Your colors brilliant and true
I came in and did not want to leave
But leaves change color sometimes
To you it never became autumn
And then winter came
It is hard not to be ignorant
I could not see you
Through the delicate opacity of your worn sheath
Which you decided to condense a thousandfold after it was too late
I could not have simply known
That you were actually a monarch
To be a gossamer
Pathetic but now impenetrable
You may open up but will never really break
That is what makes you pathetic
But I pity you more
Than you are pathetic
Your colors brilliant and true
I came in and did not want to leave
But leaves change color sometimes
To you it never became autumn
And then winter came
It is hard not to be ignorant
I could not see you
Through the delicate opacity of your worn sheath
Which you decided to condense a thousandfold after it was too late
I could not have simply known
That you were actually a monarch
To be a gossamer
Pathetic but now impenetrable
You may open up but will never really break
That is what makes you pathetic
But I pity you more
Than you are pathetic
