An Old Friend

Years ago,
I was too young to know
about the dangers of those below;
the ones that dwell in human woe.

Demons of an endless reign
that fill you with fear and deign.
Though they say most are vain,
I recall one not so plain

His name was Samael
with an alter ego of a female;
they called her evil
a devil self-proclaimed regal.

But Samael was known for his killings.
He reigned in the Fifth Heaven of dark buildings.
Taking lives of the ones whose lives were chilling;
the one's whose souls were stained of the unwilling.

He has taken lives of the kind,
innocent and fair of mind.
He doesn't like it, it's his design.
God forgives him, his purpose, and his bind.

He has taken my family,
my friends, and an enemy.
He takes those whose time is agony;
it's his job, not his morality.

He takes who's on his list.
Neither Good nor Evil of fist.
For he and the Devil coexist.
Though we hate what he does,
he must persist.

He comes at our time of fate
to take us to Heaven or Hell's Gate.
It is a design that most tend to hate.
I believe it is design and a state.

I don't worship him.
I acknowledge him.

I don't blame him.
I accept him.
