Broken Heart
A piercing cold chill
Against my own will
Time ceasing to exist
What a silly twist
A heart once guarded by love
Now feeble and unmasked
drained of its color
washed up and duller
than a moonless night
no longer the victim of pain
for how can a heart that’s numb feel such agony
