The Tides Of Life
(This poem I wrote a few years ago)
Lovers walk upon,
The beaches of time,
Gently treading, treading,
Treading the sands of life
Pondering why,
Why there is so much strife,
And how ones luck can change, change,
On the flip of a dime,
How misfortune,
Can leave you feeling sick, sick,
And as green as a lime
Together, they glance out,
Out, across the bone white sand
To where the mighty whales breach,
In an eternal pull
Against the rip tides,
Of the everlasting,
Ocean of emotions
The ocean roars,
Like a primitive beast
As it rears its salty, foamy head,
Only to come crashing,thundering down
Upon the seashell strewn,
Sun bleached sand
Trying to overwhelm, and to smother,
But failing,And so it retreats
Hissing in anger
The sea bubbles,
And erupts
Giant Jaws,
Thrusting up
To gulp,and to swallow,
At the panic stricken fish
The jaws snap shut,
And the monsters dive
And disappear,
Once more
Into the blue, blue,
Ever blue sea
Then,seconds later
Again the sea erupts,
As the giant beasts
Heave themselves up,
Up out of the Ocean
Only to come falling back to earth,
With a thunderous,booming crash
The lovers gasp
In awe and wonder,
For you can not truly grasp
At the size of the three whales,
Big sleek and trim
Unless you saw,
And stood in awe
As they launched themselves skywards,
Once more
Lovers walk upon,
The beaches of time,
Gently treading, treading,
Treading the sands of life
Pondering why,
Why there is so much strife,
And how ones luck can change, change,
