Time Pieces
Precious commodity given not earned
A pot of gold to start your journey precise
And pay the toll master
For every day above ground
Frugality is not taught this young
The gold pieces flow liberally
Without care, without purpose
The vessel reduces in weight
And is carried haphazardly
Wisdom is not guaranteed
Carelessness spills the golden pieces
Days are lost on folly and self-gratification
Wisdom finally appears
When the well is running dry
Frugality kicks you in the rear
And covets the time pieces
Selfishly
Through your golden years
