Henna
Henna
Stains my hands
Verdant Egypt
Transport me, Queen
Life bequeathed here
Henna
Stains my soul
Educing Essence
Natural Earthy Real
Life reinvigorated anew
Henna
Saturates the air

re: Re: Henna
Oh, Jack, luv (Mephistopheles :-*)~
Definitively, I am NOT John Nash. Let us settle that right now.
The first time I hennaed my hair, I felt as one with ancestral Egyptian queens. It soothed and rooted some deep portion of my soul. I believe connections can resonate across centuries, transcend time, and plants so intimately connected to earth convey that gift oft-times.
On a lighter note: apparently, Lucille Ball only ever hennaed her hair...
You've got me flustered, you know. Thank you for calling mine a beautiful mind and my sensibilities hypersensitive. I have always been acutely sensitive 'tis true. As for the rest, thank you, sweet devil.

Thank you, taito-10, luv :-*. I appreciate the link and reference to henna's extensive history and use throughout the East for decoration: hair color and tattooing, in religious rites and daily life.

To disagree with Jack Tex a bit - there's nothing "insignificant" about the beauty and tradition of henna ... It's use to accent the beauty of women of color in Africa - India and Pakistan is centuries old ...
Your scribe and reading is a lovely ode to this tradition and the women who wear it.
Thank you for sharing this.
