Take Your Time

Take your time.
Please be careful.
In your watch,
Of the hand that ticks, that tocks,
That takes our time.
Like flickers of youth,
Wasted by mindless games,
By truant thoughts,
With thoughtless ryhmes.

Take your time.
With lovers who may blind,
With leaves falling upon sidewalks.
With waves crashing upon the shore.
With souls mingling.
Friends and lovers and the laugh of a brother.
It's all we take from life.
So, with these things...take your time.
For of time you can take no more.

I live every moment like a child.
Like I'm reborn into this world.
Unbridled.
With my wisdom, my memories, my mind in tact.
Re-made to a better version of myself with abilities I once lacked.
Take your time.
Use it wisely.
Hear this...
You can't erase the past and you can't pause the future.
You can't stitch it in again like a suture.
Time is fleeting.
And your face reminds me of my younger days.
Your skin reminds me of my careless ways.
Your hands remind me of mine before I knew betrayal.
So beware girl.
For you may turn out like me.
Only time will tell.
So take it for all it can be.
A series of blissful encounters or a maelstrom of if's, what coulda beens and maybe's.
Take your time.
Use it wisely.
