Marilyn Monroe

My smile swears I'm happy but it lies hardcore.
Tears and trashy words say "I can't take it anymore."
I'm not seen for my spine.
I'm only noticed for a dime.
Perfect figure and all, just look at the headline:
"This pathetic girl deserves her painful life."

Oh, don't you see?
I see Marilyn Monroe walking the neon streets
At 11:11 just to make her dreams come alive.
Every attempt fails for her to die.
Marilyn Monroe is tired of looking at sidewalks with a magnifying glass.
But sometimes she gets side tracked.
Girls, don't you know we're all Marilyn Monroe?

He says he loves her but he lays his hands on her, which isn't right.
Like a dream, something makes her believe otherwise.
All the girl ever wanted was to be adored and loved.
After all, isn't life supposed to be fun?
Not if there's differences and religion involved.
Porcelain skin makes perfect wrong.

Swallowed eyes and ripped tongues are the cause of broken lives.
But just because you're tired doesn't mean you have to die.
Pills and free taxi rides are how we stand out.
We run the alleys and we run our mouths.
Guilty smiles and innocent walks fall close behind our sweet intentions.
We're just sad girls who make the worst possible decisions.
