holes on heels
On reaching the rears of a local Government
Primary School just before the junction of
where I stay, I looked at my wrist watch and
behold it was some few minutes to 4:30pm;
the time this Primary School calls it a day. I
doubled up my foot steps to avoid walking
amidst some nuisance. Suddenly, a School bell rang and before I could take two more steps, shouts of
joy, whistles and noise almost got me deaf.
The walls of Jericho would have still preferred
that of the Israelite's. My face showed the
expression of anger with wrinkles that could
pinch a rock-no justice to that anyway. With
several thoughts going through my heart, I
could strangle a shark.
A touch of pity and sympathy suddenly
zoomed passed my rage when a tear dropped
my left eye: all the kids were poorly dressed.
3 out of every 5 kids were on flip flops, but to
be more precise; bathroom slippers. A little girl
made my focal point, I was agonising with her
situation, her flip flops were completely worn-
out with holes at both heels. I paused for a while took a deep breath, but was my sympathy gonna be of any help? maybe not. No balance in social strata, equilibrium lost it's equality and fell backwards; landed hard like the sun has fallen on Pluto. The heat burns the lower class.
so disappointed Ibcouldn't offer any help.
