ode to A Great poet

my brain is a little pasted

from age,and getting wasted

my haze from coffee and buffets

does not stop flashbacks of

lines from her plays

they echo on in memory

as lately, her pen is doing some r & r

i remember that poem...

...a line of coke on her belly

tempting her partner to sniff

Awaiting a grab at her hair down there

he doesn't quite sense he's got the green light

those scattered shards of abandoNed factory windows

sparkling in snow

coNdoms discarded by An old mattress

a prostitute frozen to the Ground

worries for a sister who might discoveR her

constant amazement at having lived to see a brIght new day

her poetry of wild wild rides on

life's seNsuous bouquet

i never fail to arrive safely back to earth with

her trademark dollop of offhand innocence

nostalgia is good, the future is great

a hearty bon voyage

on journeys that await!
