Your Own Obsidian Shard
To you my origin is unknown.
Hidden, lost, forgotten
that's what I am to you.
Immaterial.
Upon creation
you solidified me so swiftly
I was in your image.
A calculated move.
It was my specular exterior
that attracted you from the start.
It was her fictile persona
and stunning looks
that made you stray.
I am more than I appear,
not something to be
kicked around your bedroom
like an overindulged obsession
gazed upon too often.
So confront your deepest
fears, phobias, hurts, and shames
and get out of my life.
You used my distinct edge to
break another's heart.
Remember how I inadvertantly
disrupted her existance?
In countless glistening
pieces she lays at the base.
I will be sure to make you suffer.
Let me orient you
back to reality, baby ‑
you don't mean shit to me.
Nevermore.
So take your own advice
and put up a shield
before I shatter your
mirror of illusions.
Hidden, lost, forgotten
that's what I am to you.
