The Black Augury
In a world of silence, the darkness flows strong
There is no light; the passion of all has gone
Creation of man, worn dry; chapters of life gone by
Memories are cleared; to the truth we must abide
Not a thought is made, as our freedom will fade
Not questioning fate, as our race is enslaved
As it which feeds on hearts and choice; the plague
Creates a destined pain; a dark hell that we’ll forever face
Your nightmares that haunt the night
They stay to prey on your mind, your flesh
Bring eternal dismay and horrific fright
Level your mortal torture to the greatest of heights
Flood your sanity, overflowing the kingdom of evil
Oceans of serpent blood; sights only to dream of
A realm of fear, your forced to adhere
Centuries of torment await you; punishment so severe
The book of red; a destined fate
The choice that you have made; a blackened disgrace
The fire will burn years more; the past you cannot escape
Forever you will rot in this land of eternal hate

Well, very dark indeed, dark imagery, dark diction, just plain dark...my critique: your rhyme scheme is a little inconsistent, you have a shift in POV from our --> you, it's a little disruptive and I get a so much information thrown at me. I assume you try to explain how the augury will destroy "our" then to "you" or "your" "as you state above" something...try to expand on your ideas. Discuss further into more detail how or why the race is enslaved, go into more detail about the book of red expand and show but do not tell your points, this piece has potential..good!
