Great Divide

You post things up so easy
Right up on your wall.
Knock me down with your words,
Helping further my fall.
  Giving me the guilt trip,
And saying that you’re sad.
Call me up with your whining,
This time you skip being mad.
But it’s always Jekyll and Hyde,
Just like each time before.
And now I finally know better
Then to trust this anymore.
  It’s always back and forth,
Time and time again.
One day I’m the enemy,
The next I’m your best friend.
I hate the games you play.
They affect more then just me.
Our daughter sees the truth of this,
Of what you’ve come to be.
She asks to take my name,
and to come live at my house.
If not then can I at least go back
And live there as your spouse.
  It’s killing me inside
And it’s eating me alive.
Each time I think of her
It expands our great divide.
