ROBBED OFF MADNESS
Oh the transformation love can bring!!!
Tall,athletic,fresh Caucasian skin
a beauty he was!
Rob Madness.
Moved to Mombasa from Rotterdam in 2010
Quickly fell in love with the city and its finest cuisine.
A regular at the Casablanca
he easily became accustomed to various local dishes,if you know what i mean
Oh!And he was never shy to an audience while having his dessert!
8000 miles from his ordinary life
A beach house next to ours
Cocaine,heroine,E,weed... at every street
Women at his disposal
Fast cars and lots of Euros to make it rain.
He fit right in into the city that breath on sin.
He lived the good life
Or at least he thought!
He met Suzie at our dinning table one Friday
My godfather thought it was his mission to make Rob see the light so he had him over for dinner sometimes.
They got to talking
exchanged numbers
hanging out
Before we knew it,
Rob sat first row at J.C.C every Sunday to applaud his bride in the choir.
He applied for citizenship
Enrolled at Daystar University for Journalism
Started writing and performing again
Got a job at Baraka FM in 2012
And settled to a delightful simple life.
The only more he wanted was to be better for his dear Suzie.
To make her happy, henceforth, was his solemn intention in life .
Suzie's death came too fast,unceremonious
none of us were prepared for it.
When she was first diagnosed with lung cancer
We were all so hopeful she will beat it.
Rob would smile at her on those long nights and say
"If my money will not,
Then your God will surely heal you!"
He prayed
He begged
He fasted
He hoped
He believed
He trusted
He nursed her through and through.
Rob was sure on their wedding day,Suzie will be cancer free.
The tumors however kept on spreading numerously
14th September 2013,We laid Suzie to rest.
Rob Madness or whatever is left of him
from morning till late night his dwelling is the beach.
You will find him classic drunk, stained cheeks, laying ashore.
Once a heartthrob,and a beauty to behold
An amazing songwriter,Oh how he would serenade her!
A faithful partner and our friend.
All that is left is a broken man with a broken heart, broken faith and a broken life.
He is no longer the man who landed at the airport
The party animal
Nor the man who fell deeply in love with Suzie.
Those who who don't know the story says the city drove him to madness.
They don't understand her death robbed off his madness.
