The First Darkness
January 26th, 2010
A young bird flaps
It's bent and broken wing.
Looking to the bright blue sky
Yearning to soar and sing.
But it's on the ground
It can not flee
From dark hidden things
It can not see
So again
Once more it tries
To quick escape
The twisted lies
But knows it can't
For hope has gone
And so it ends,
The young birds song.
A young bird flaps
It's bent and broken wing.
Looking to the bright blue sky
Yearning to soar and sing.
But it's on the ground
It can not flee
From dark hidden things
It can not see
So again
Once more it tries
To quick escape
The twisted lies
But knows it can't
For hope has gone
And so it ends,
The young birds song.
