happy smiles

walking through the park
on a sunday sunny day
people smiling
watching their kids at play
a dog fetches a ball
rushes back when his master calls
i lick my ice cream
and marvel at it all

people so happy
so carefree
lots of smiles to go around
my ice cream is melting
dripping on the ground
i had better eat it quickly
before there is no more to be found

i like to lie down
in the cool green grass
and just watch the world go by
staring up at the clear blue skies
today is a day of happy smiles
that will last quite a while
