Cloudless Skies
Tall trees and wooden benches
Dusty leaves,
Gravel paths
Trickling rivers,
Smooth as glass
Weave in and out,
As dogs bark
Balls are thrown,
Hands raised to catch
Now we sit upon,
The soft green grass
See how straight it grows?
Metal railings
A childs laugh,
The scent of earth
Red picnic blankets,
Buzzing Bees
Wooden forts and swing sets,
Blue slides, scraped knees
Under the Summer sun
We play,
Pretty flowers
Scent of hay,
We're enjoying ice cream, today
Sun hats and sticky fingers,
Happy faces,
Cloudless skies.
