Love At First Light

Shades of green off the trees as shades of yellow off the sun
Fading all into the most beautiful scene
When the sun just hits above the horizon
Just as you and her eyes become one
Whilst the sound of water flows like a symphony
All the leaves flying by in sympathy
Circle chalk around the area we stand
The light shines directly off her wedding band
And for a second I am blind
Gathering up the scattered thoughts in my mind
The ground shatters and breaks apart
Me on one side her on the other
In the middle sits my heart
All I can do is stare
While she stands without a care
Lost in the perplexity of love at first sight
Where everything exists if this little thing does
Where the one thing he can’t have is the one thing he loves
When you see that person for the first time
They smile and you smile back and just they never leave your mind
From that day forth and you begin a search
For the one thing you know in the ends hurts
But that doesn’t matter
Only she matters
Only her smile and the way she looked at you
The way she looks at you
The way you find it hard what to say when you speak to her
But that one moment is what you wait for
As you blink the light out of your eye
Look down from the sky
And past all the light
Standing there is her shadowed in love at first sight
