A Broken Girl

A look in the mirror-
brushing my hair, taking silly pictures
or applying make up-
I see nothing but the hollow shell of a girl
that use to be.

The twinkle that once made her
green eyes so vibrant,
was now a dull and lifeless stare-
it was if the demons inside her destroyed
the life from her eyes.

The smile she used to have-
dimpled and bright-
now was only fake and forced-
only used to make the ones she loved
think she was okay and nothing was wrong.

Something is wrong,
Something is always wrong.

She believes in no compliments-
the vicious words of others broke her,
made her believe she was what they labeled her-
to this day she still believed them.

She wasn't beautiful,
She wasn't cute,
She wasn't gorgeous, wasn't
pretty and wasn't the "happiest" girl
in the world.

She was hideous,
She was an ugly freak.-
a ugly monster that'll never change
She wasn't the happiest-
the girl was just broken.

A broken little girl,
living in a world that one day
she'll escape from.
And that broken girl
will be no more.
