To my Father
Abandoned is what they label me as.
Abandoned is what you made me.
I felt you missing, you were the hole in my heart, you never filled it
so now it's dark.
I cry sometimes because you weren't there.
I scream sometimes because you never tried to be.
It seems like you're running away from me,
Time goes by and there's no word,
I'm used to you're voice being unheard.
I travel through life wondering where you are, and why you aren't here to see the goodness in my heart.
I am the daughter you never saw grow,
I am the daughter that has your smile and your eyes, i am the daughter whose life you left behind.
Abandoned is what they label me as.
Abandoned is what you made me.
Abandoned is what I'll never claim to be.
