Our existence
somehow we have all been thrown in the same ocean
but yet we are living worlds apart
two worlds apart
some have been thrown in the sea at birth,
where they drown slowly throughout their lives,
sinking slowly, never seeing the sunlight again, never given a chance to.
others have been kicked in at a young age; or even as young adults, where they suddenly found themselves sinking half way down, kicked in. They stare around helplessly, wishing , wanting to catch a glimpse of the sun's rays, hoping, flailing, as they too slowly sink to the bottom. Some manage to swim half way up the depth, still hoping, others reach the bottom, never to rise again.
I was drowning before i was even born, but i caught a glimpse of the sun and i wished for it, only i was fooled, as i was sinking slowly to the depths of the sea, i kept seeing the sun's rays above the water's edge and believed i could actually reach that edge and rise above it, only i was going down deeper and deeper and for me too, there was no chance.
and then, there are those who have never been underneath the water's surface at all, and believe they have seen the ocean's bed, believe they understand, when all they've done is float by, always in the sunlight
