electrical surge
current pinging my fingertips
punching my gut
it tumbles through
on alert, i'm sharper
quicker
i can hear a bug
scuttling in the tub from here
and i'm confident
i can do anything i want with this
energy
pumping
pressing the edges of my conscious
mind
overcoming usual hurdles because
i can
wish it didn't take a rush
to get me ready
steady enough to just
jump

I enjoy poems like this, which create mini epics out of the most mundane subject matter. An elegantly crafted, considered piece. The first verse is my favourite.
aw, thanks, Jack. it really is the most mundane thing, especially since the energy is probably from one too many cups of tea. can't deny the invigorating effects though. [:
