Cafe Girl
You took a glance at that opening door
as you heard that soothing blues song
and you found a face so mesmerizing,
filling your heart with unknown hope.
What you saw in those big brown eyes
is something you could not explain,
you just knew it had trapped you inside
and for just a moment it took away the pain.
How do you go about your life
believing you had lost all trace
of anything that could be remotely meaningful
and then get it all back with a stranger's glance?
