Caged

How does one's heart beat
With a stolen breath
A twisted soul
Fate at the end of the sword
Whispers of the night
Calling to battle
Facing the storm
Blood splashing
Attacking everything
Heart beat stops

With a stolen breath
A twisted soul
Fate at the end of the sword
Reflecting
The eyes that cry
Pain hardening
Turning to stone
Shadow holding the sword
As fate draws near
Lifeless
At the touch of the sword

Twisted soul
What do we have
Longing for that day
Marriage, family
Future
Touching my cheek
It's swept away
Shadow
Reflecting

Past as present
Present as future
Future as past

A circle
Bound by stone
Like the ring on your hand
Weighing you down
Longing for better
But only knowing the past
