Alone
With a kiss and promise true
You swore to me and I to you
Veil and dress of abalone
You said I’d never be alone.
This house we made bustles with noise
Shouts and laughs of life and its joys
Amidst this all my heart of stone
Why do I feel so all alone?
Even here with the life we made
I thought our love would give us shade
It’s heartbreak though, that I do own
How could you leave me all alone?
You give so much to those outside
But from me you run and hide
In your actions your heart is shown
Even with you, I’m still alone
“When did you leave?” I ask once more
You have yet to close the door
I’ve given you my soul, my blood and bone
But, it’s not enough I’m still alone
At the end there’s nothing left.
You’ve left my heart and soul bereft
If you love me, is unknown
It’s why, I am now all alone.
You swore to me and I to you
Veil and dress of abalone
You said I’d never be alone.
This house we made bustles with noise
Shouts and laughs of life and its joys
Amidst this all my heart of stone
Why do I feel so all alone?
Even here with the life we made
I thought our love would give us shade
It’s heartbreak though, that I do own
How could you leave me all alone?
You give so much to those outside
But from me you run and hide
In your actions your heart is shown
Even with you, I’m still alone
“When did you leave?” I ask once more
You have yet to close the door
I’ve given you my soul, my blood and bone
But, it’s not enough I’m still alone
At the end there’s nothing left.
You’ve left my heart and soul bereft
If you love me, is unknown
It’s why, I am now all alone.
