Dinner at a burger joint in Miami
Red sofas line the walls in ranks
Uncomfortable mute sentinels
While plump bottoms sit on them
Plumper than the meat here
Maybe tastier, maybe less saltier
But what do we care
The slop is the least of our worries
A whole day awake with jet lag
And no sign of respite
Hungry, tetchy, tired
Anything will do
The Ice numbs the pain
And numbs the opressive heat
We eat quickly, alls a blur
And step out into the bright blue balmy night
Uncomfortable mute sentinels
While plump bottoms sit on them
Plumper than the meat here
Maybe tastier, maybe less saltier
But what do we care
The slop is the least of our worries
A whole day awake with jet lag
And no sign of respite
Hungry, tetchy, tired
Anything will do
The Ice numbs the pain
And numbs the opressive heat
We eat quickly, alls a blur
And step out into the bright blue balmy night
