Ashes

A tiny spark in my tinder box of ashes,
bringing warmth to desolate lands.
A honest smile, a look, a gentle touch to my soul;
enables me to somehow just let go.
The past has gone black and white,
no longer holding color and life.
The Past, once holding me captive and enslaved.
Now,  the Hope of tomorrow enabling me to be brave.
And like the roulette wheel of love, forever spinning,
Life is a gamble some losing and some winning.
I am not addicted to this game,
Losing in Love, I’ll never be the same…
My mind may play role of shark and dealer dirty..
Yet I take the chance, I’ll let it roll; I’ll bet on.. Me.
